Dear Friends of Kabaddi
We celebrated the first ever Kabaddi League Championship in all the three disciplines in Siddharthanagar Lumbini, Nepal from 11th – 14th September 2009 with slogan ” Play Kabaddi for Peace and Harmony” The IKL Championship aimed to offer good opportunity to all the Kabaddi clubs, Associations and Federations to represent from their respective countries to participate and demonstrate their skills in all the three disciplines. We are happy to record that 269 players and officials from 20 teams availed the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and exchanged friendship and brotherhood by participating the championship.

We expected 27 Kabaddi teams of Men, Women and Youths to participate in all the three disciplines ( National Style Kabaddi, Circle Style Kabaddi and Beach Style Kabaddi ) from Nepal, India, Malaysia, Norway, Australia, Thailand, USA, Canada, Argentina, Sweden, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, but due to some obstacles many of these countries could not attend the championship.
How ever 20 teams representing Nepal, India, America, Sweden and Norway participated the IKL Champion in all the three disciplines. Team representing Pakistan is dropped from the fixtures at last minute due to delay in getting visa on time. The results of the Championship is as given below:

We appreciate and extend our thanks to WKF Technical Director Mr.S.T.Arasu and Mr.Anbarasu Letchumanan of Malaysia who travelled all the way from Kuala Lumpur to take the technical responsibilities during the Championship. We also thank Mr.Keshav Raj Gautam our technical consultant and technical officials from Nepal and India who assisted us in conducting the IKL Championship smoothly. Special thanks also goes to all the officials and the players of the teams who has participated the IKL Championship 2009 Nepal.
