Membership

Membership Categories

Membership shall be granted to individuals and organisations upon payment of requisite fees along with the membership form for the following categories after proper scrutiny.
Accompanied by entrance and affiliation fee as prescribed from time to time for the year.

  1. Ordinary members
  2. Affiliate/ Associates members
  3. Provisional member
  4. Affiliate Club & Association
  5. Corporate member
  6. Life member
  7. Supporting member (Friends of Kabaddi)
  8. Founder Members
  9. Honorary Members

1. Ordinary Members (Only for Registered National Associations / Federations)
An ordinary member, on admission to the Federation and payment of such entrance fee and subscription for the time being in force for members, will be entitled to all rights and privileges of membership including the right of attending and voting at meeting and shall also be liable to pay annual subscription for time being in force for members. However only one member from each forms of Kabaddi ( Traditional Style, Circle Style and Beach Style ) is eligible for membership from one country.
Renewals of such registered National Associations / Federations will be done upon submission of the following mandatory documents from 1st January 2015 onwards:
i. List & address of latest State units.
ii. Detailed report of the National Championships held during the year.
iii. Minutes of last AGM and Audit report.
Membership status of all the existing Ordinary/ Affiliate Members who do not fulfill the above conditions will be automatically changed into Affiliate/ Associates member category from 1st January 2015.

2. Founder Members
Any person who has subscribed to the Memorandum and Articles of the Federation and is in good standing will be the Founder Member and will be Life Member of the Federation without payment of membership fee or any other subscription. Founder Members shall be permanent Executive Board Members without election in General Assembly with all the rights and privileges of an Executive Board Member.

3. Life Members
A member on admission to the Federation and on payment of the subscription for the time being in force for the life membership will become life member and will be entitled to all rights and privileges of membership of Federation including the rights of attending and voting at general meeting. As per the decision of the 5th AGM held on 23rd day of September 2010, it was unanimously decided to withdraw the privilege of voting rights automatically of those inactive life members who were absent without any information despite serving regular AGM notices on their personal emails as well as on the website for four or more than four consecutive Annual General Meetings starting from 2010 AGM.
Further decided to terminate such life members from the list of the Federation from 1st October 2015 without prior notice with provision to refund their life membership fees, incase if they claim upon surrendering their original receipt and the membership certificate.

4. Associates members
Associates member means any club, organization, Corporate, Institutions or Association formed and registered in any country to promote the game of Kabaddi and recognised by Federation as a National Governing Body.
The Associate member shall be entitled to all the privileges of the membership except the right of voting at General Meeting.

5. Provisional Members (For National & Regional Associations / Federations in process of registration)
Any Association/Federation of a national level or regional level who has less than six members (state units or affiliate countries) will have the status of provisional members during a period of three years without voting rights at general meeting. The Executive Board shall have power to retain such provisional membership, or to withdraw such membership.

6. Corporate /Institutional Members
A Corporate/Institutional member, On admission to the Federation, will be entitled to all the privileges and rights of member of the Federation for a period of four years, excepting the rights of attending and voting at a meeting. The Corporate/ Institutional member will not be liable to pay annual subscription.

7. Honorary Members
The Executive Board may invite distinguished Kabaddi personnel or persons to be honorary members without payments of entrance fee or subscription for such period, as the Executive Board may think fit. An honorary member shall be entitled to all the privileges of the membership except the right to vote or to contest for any position of the Executive Board.

8. Affiliate Club & Association
Any club/Association from the area controlled by the Association whose objects are similar to those of this Federation or is formed to promote the game of Kabaddi may apply for affiliation to the Executive Board on the prescribed form giving list of its executive members along with a copy of its constitution, accompanied by entrance and affiliation fee as prescribed from time to time for the year. The affiliation of such a club or Association may be withdrawn by the Executive Board.

9. Supporting member (Friends of Kabaddi)
Supporting member category was felt necessary and decided to add “Supporting member” which will be known as “Friends of Kabaddi ” with effect from 1st October 2014.
Membership will be granted to individuals (18+yrs) and organizations. Primary objective of the Friends of Kabaddi is to reach out to all Kabaddi lovers around the world whose support is crucial for the promotion and development of the indigenous game of Kabaddi.
