30th September 2023 (18th WKF AGM)

18th Annual General Meeting of World Kabaddi Federation was held on Saturday the 30th September 2023 in Delhi at 12.30 p.m.

1. Endorsement of the Executive Board meetings
During the AGM, Executive Board has tabled the minutes of decisions taken by EB during the year 2022-2023 (1st April 2022 to 31st March 2023) for endorsement of the AGM and unanimously decided to endorse them after brief discussion and explanations.

2. Appointments of the WKF Officials and Executive Committee for the year 2023-2024
Approved the appointments of some additional Executive Committee members and other committee members as per the decision of EB. It was also unanimously decided to authorize the Director Mr.L.Dorji Lama to appoint all the vacant WKF officials for the year 2022-2024 as and when required.

13th September 2023 (18th WKF AGM Notice)

World Kabaddi Federation is pleased and honoured to invite all the members of WKF to its 18th Annual General Meeting of the members of World Kabaddi Federation will be held at its registered office G-104/ 4 Laxmi Park, Nangloi, New Delhi-110041 on Saturday the 30th day of September 2023 at 12:30 p.m to transact the following business:

ORDINARY RESOLUTION:

  1. To receive, consider and adopt the audited Balance sheet of the Federation as on 31st March 2023 and Profit and loss account for the year ended on that date and reports of the Directors and auditors their on.
  2. To appoint the auditors of the Federation for the year 2023- 2024 and to fix their remuneration at the conclusion of 18th Annual General Meeting and eligible for reappointment.
  3. Any other matters with the permission of the chair.

24th August 2023 (Indo Nepal Int’l Kabaddi Match Series-2023)

Indo Nepal Int’l Kabaddi Match Series-2023 under the Aegis of WKF was held at Jaya Multiple Campus Kathmandu Nepal from 24 – 27 August 2023 organized by Buddha Sports Academy Kathmandu Nepal.

Kabaddi Open Club Championship Italy & European Kabaddi Championship Italy 2023)

We are pleased to you that the International Sport Network Organization (ISNO) after a long period of time is able to present finally, the ISNO Global Games in 2023 in Italy.
We would like to recall you that, last year that ISNO had to suspend the competition due to the pandemic problems in 2021. Due to which we also had to suspend our scheduled World Kabaddi Championship and WKF European Kabaddi Championship scheduled from 15 – 18 March 2021 at Bella Italia Village.

We express our regret to all those countries who had confirmed to participate by sending us the preliminary booking forms during September 2020.

The ISNO World Games gives the opportunity to all the members of ISNO-GAAPSF to organize in this amazing competition and festival their International, National, World and Continental competitions, Championships, festivals and to organize education courses, seminars and AGM during the event.

So this time we are happy to extend invitation to your team/s for the Kabaddi Kabaddi Open Club Championship 2023 (Men) & European Kabaddi Championship 2023 (Men) in Udine Italy during the ISNO Global Games from the 28th September to the 1st October 2023.

The Kabaddi Open Club Championship & European Kabaddi Championship 2023 will offer good opportunities to all the Kabaddi Clubs, Associations and Federations to represent from their different countries to participate and demonstrate their skills as well as to exchange friendship and brotherhood to promote peace and harmony and to contribute by integrating the Women and Youth in our activities to achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals to promote and achieve Sports for Peace and Development for building sustainable Peace through Sports.

25th September 2022 (17th WKF AGM)

17th Annual General Meeting of World Kabaddi Federation as well as the election of the Executive Board for the term 2022 -2026 was held on 25th September 2022 in Delhi at 11.15 am.

  1. Endorsement of the Executive Board meetings
    During the AGM, Executive Board has tabled the minutes of decisions taken by EB during the year 2021-2022 (1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022) for endorsement of the AGM and unanimously decided to endorse them after reading out the minutes with explanations and brief discussion.
  2. Revision of subscription fee & Entrance fee
    Revision of the Annual subscription fee & Entrance fee of WKF members with effect from 1st October 2022 (subject to revision) tabled by Executive Board as per Annex A was unanimously approved and endorsed by the AGM.
  3. Appointments of the WKF Officials and Executive Committee for the year 2022-2024
    Appointments of the Patrons, Executive Committee, Regional WKFs and other committees were tabled by Executive Board for the year 2022-2024 as per Annex B was unanimously approved and endorsed by the AGM. It was also unanimously decided to authorize the outgoing President and Director Mr.L.Dorji Lama to appoint all the vacant WKF officials for the year 2022-2024 as and when required.

9th September 2022 (17th WKF AGM Notice)

World Kabaddi Federation is pleased and honoured to invite all the members of the Federation to its 17th Annual General Meeting as well as to elect the Executive Board for the term 2022 -2026 in Delhi, India on 25th September 2022 at 11.15 am.
All the dues such as subscription and bills if any, must be cleared before 24th September 2022 (before office hours) to enable us for the preparation of the voters list for election of the Executive Board. 29th August 2022 (Executive Board Meeeeting)

WKF Executive Board meeting was held in Mundgod, Karnataka on Monday the 29th August 2022 and following decisions were taken:

  1. Auditors Report and Balance Sheet.
    Auditors Report and Balance sheet as at 31.03.2022 presented by Mr. L.Dorji Lama, Director was unanimously approved after brief discussion.
  2. Revision of subscription fee & Entrance fee
    Revision of the Annual subscription fee & Entrance fee of WKF members with effect from 1st October 2022 (subject to revision) proposed by Mr.L.Dorji Lama, Director as per Annex A was approved by unanimous decision subject to endorsement of the AGM.
  3. Appointments of the WKF Officials and Executive Committee for the year 2022-2024
    Appointments of the Patrons, Executive Committee, Regional WKFs and other committees were proposed and drafted for the year 2022-2024. It was also unanimously decided to authorize the outgoing President and Director Mr.L.Dorji Lama to appoint all the proposed WKF officials for the year 2022-2024 subject to endorsement of the AGM.
  4. Submission of Nomination paper for election
    Submission of nomination form is open w.e.f 29th August 2022 i.e from this date of EB meeting.

26th July 2022 (Chief Patron of WKF)

As requested by WKF Executive Committee vide our letter No.WKF/Adm/Cop/238/ 2022 dated 26th July 2022, Hon’ble Dr.Kirit P. Solanki, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Chairman, Parliamentary Committee on the Welfare of Schedule Cast and Schedule Tribes has kindly given his consent to be the Chief Patron of WKF vide his official letter No.KPS/R/DO/22/07/05 dated 27/07/2022, New Delhi.


30th November 2021 (16th WKF AGM)

16th Annual General Meeting of World Kabaddi Federation was held on Tuesday the 30th day of November 2021 at 02.30 p.m. During the AGM, Executive Board has tabled the minutes of decisions taken by EB during the year 2020-2021 (1st April 2020 to 31st March 2021) for endorsement which was unanimously endorsed by the AGM. Further it has been also decided to offer Free Membership for further one year to all Affiliate/Associate Members with National Governing Body status for the year 2022 to those countries applying membership on prescribed MEMBERSHIP FORM by considering the effects of pandemic COVID-19 crisis.


11th November 2021 (Condolences)

On 11th November 2021 Mr.Paolo the son of Mr.Francesco Romani has informed us by email that, Mr.Francesco Romani passed away after long time in intensive care due to pulmonary complications on
9th November 2021 Tuesday afternoon.
We wrote condolence message to his family by return mail to his family. He has served as WKF official since from the inception of our Federation.
On behalf of WKF, we express our deepest condolences and we will never forget his dedication and contributions towards the development of Kabaddi.

1st June 2021 (Resignation of Mr.Romani Francisco)

With regret WKF has accepted the resignation of Mr.Mr.Romani Francesco of Italy from all his designations of World Kabaddi Federation with effect from 1st June 2021 considering his leading role (doyen) in C.S.E.N the most important body for sport promotion in Italy which do not allow him to hold any other roles and task as mentioned in his resignation letter dated 15th May 2021. We however hope that being a most senior official of WKF, he will support and guide us in future at the time of need.


25th April 2021 (Appointments)

As per WKF objects III. B .23 of the Memorandum of Association and the powers delegated by the Executive Board on 31.12.2020, WKF President has appointed the following WKF officials for the remaining period of the term of the Executive Committee i.e. till 2022.

  1. Mr.Muzondiwa Gilbert Makowah of Zimbabwe for the post of Chairman WKF Africa.
  2. Mr.Irshal Ishu of India for the post of Chairman Youth Commission.

16th April 2021 (Member of ICSSPE)

World Kabaddi Federation was officially recognized as a Member of International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) recognized body of International Olympic Committee (IOC).


31st December 2020 September 2019 (15th WKF AGM)

15th Annual General Meeting of World Kabaddi Federation was held on Thursday the 31st day of December 2020 at 12.30 pm.

During the year under consideration, the Executive Board has briefed the minutes of decisions taken during the meetings held on 19.06.2019, 04.09.2019, 29.09.2019, 05.12.2019 and14.03.2020 for endorsement of the AGM. After short explanations, the house unanimously decided to endorse the decisions of the EB.

WKF has decided to offer Free Membership to all Affiliate/Associate Members with National Governing Body status for the year 2021 to all countries applying membership on prescribed MEMBERSHIP FORM between 1st January 2021 to 31st March 2021 by considering the pandemic COVID-19 crisis on the basis of “ First come First Serve “.

3rd September 2020 (Circular to affiliates regarding ISNO World Games 2021 Italy)

WKF has sent and extended invitation to all affiliate Kabaddi Federations along with preliminary booking form in numbers for interested participation in World Kabaddi Championship 2021 Italy and WKF European Kabaddi Championship Italy 2021 Italy with request to submit the prescribed preliminary forms within 20th September 2020 without fail.


20th Aug 2020 (ISNO Global Games 2021 Italy)

International Sport Network Organization (ISNO) has given the opportunity to all the members of ISNO and GAAPSF to organize in its amazing competition and festival their International, National, World and Continental competitions, Championships and festivals. They also allowed to organize education courses, seminars and AGM during the ISNO Global Games 2021 to be held at Bella Italia Village, Viale Centrale, 29, 33054 Lignano Sabbiadoro (Udine) Italy from 15th – 23rd March 2021


8th July 2020 (Reconstitution of the Executive Committee for the year 2020-2022)

Reconstitution of the Executive Committee as per Annex A was made for the year 2020-2022 with immediate effect as per the requirements and timely need of WKF to implement the mission Kabaddi in Olympic.
It was also decided to authorize the President to appoint additional officials and committee members as and when required as per the decision of the Executive Board meeting held on 29th September 2019.


25th May 2020 (International Member of GAAPSF)

World Kabaddi Federation was officially recognized as an International Member of General Association of the Asia Pacific Sports Federations (GAAPSF) on 25th May 2020 previously called Sport Accord Asia-Pacific Headquarters.


6th April 2020 (International Member)

World Kabaddi Federation was officially recognized as an International Member of International Sports Network Organization (ISNO) on 6th April 2020 for active sporting activities at International level from the year 2021 onwards.
We are aiming for creating a network through the members to organize the ISNO Global Games, organize sport for all wellness and physical activity globally and to organize and develop Kabaddi events, training sections for National Federations. Also to certify our technical officials and develop high value training courses in sport fields under ISO as an ISO academy, having all the recognitions worldwide, helping member to have the highest recognition for their certificate program.


29th September 2019 (14th AGM)

14th Annual General Meeting of World Kabaddi Federation was held in Delhi at its registered office G 104/4, Laxmi Park, Nangloi, New Delhi on Sunday the 29th day of September 2019 at 11.15 a.m as scheduled.
During the year under consideration the Executive Board has tabled the minutes of decisions taken during the meetings held on 30.9 2018 (After AGM), 21.03.2019, 15.04.2019 and 13.06.2019 for endorsement of the AGM. After reading out the minutes and short explanations, the house unanimously decided to endorse the decisions of the EB.

It was also decided to authorize the President Mr.L.Dorji Lama to appoint rest of the WKF officials as and when required.

13th Annual General Meeting of World Kabaddi Federation and election of the Executive Board for the term 2018 to 2022 was held in Delhi at its registered office on Sunday the 30th day of September 2018 at 11.15 a.m as scheduled.
During the AGM, Executive Board has tabled the minutes of decisions taken by EB during meetings held on 15.9 2017 (After AGM), 06.02.2018, 26.03.2018, 05.07.2018 and 28.09.2018 for endorsement of the AGM and unanimously decided to endorse them after reading out the minutes with explanations and short discussion.

16th October 2017 (Reconstitution of the Executive Committee for the year 2017-2018)

Reconstitution of the Executive Committee the year 2017-2018 (16th October 2017 till next AGM in September 2018) was made as per the unanimous decision of WKF Executive Board held on 15th September 2017 (After AGM).  It was also decided to authorize the President Mr.L.Dorji Lama to appoint rest of the WKF officials as and when required.


15th  September 2017  (12th AGM)

12th Annual General Meeting of World Kabaddi Federation was held in Delhi at its registered office G 104/4, Laxmi Park, Nangloi, New Delhi on Friday the 15th day of September 2017 at 12:30 p.m as scheduled.
During the AGM, Executive Board has tabled the minutes of decisions taken during the meeting held on  25th September 2016 (After  AGM),  2nd December 2016,  3rd February 2017,  19th April 2017,  2nd August 2017 and 15th September 2017 (Before AGM)  for endorsement of the AGM and unanimously decided to endorse them after reading out the minutes with explanations and short discussion.


1st September 2017 (Asian Kabaddi Consultative meeting)

Consultative meeting of members of Kabaddi Federation in Asia will be held in South India during the month of October 2017 to discuss about the possibility of uniting all the existing Kabaddi Federations, how to bring about improvements in Management and commercialization of Kabaddi Sport, Organizing and developing the Kabaddi Sports in Asia in a spirit of United Kabaddi and also to create a board of management for the proposed Asian Kabaddi League (AKL) aimed mainly for supporting the member countries in implementing their development projects.

WKF Asia will offer the following facilities for one delegate per country to attend the Asian Consultative meeting:

  1. Return Air ticket from the destination of the respective country to South India.
  2. Accommodation and food for 2 nights and three days.
  3. Airport pickup and local transportations in South India.

Since this is being the first occasion of opportunity and forum for face to face dialogue on the important issues on discussion in uniting the Kabaddi Federations at National, Regional and International level, we encourage all the Asian Kabaddi Federation members including non subscription paying members of Asia to attend this event facilitated by WKF Asia.
Formal invitation with date and venue will be extended to Asian Kabaddi Federations in due course.

1st August 2017 (Delegate to United Nations)

Mrs.Bhugol Sherchan, WKF Co Chairman of Women and Sports has attended the Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) Intergenerational Dialogues on the Sustainable Development Goals organized by United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) held at UN Headquarters in New York City on 1st August 2017.


9th July 2017 (Indian Kabaddi League (hey Kabaddi))
Indian Kabaddi League (hey Kabaddi) organized by New Kabaddi Federation of India & Gandhi Sports
was launched jointly by the Hon.E K Palaniswami, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and Mr.M V Prasadbabu, General Secretary of NKFI during the Prize distribution ceremony.


9th July 2017 (WKF Canada)
Chairman of the WKF America, Mr.Khanjan Patel has reported about the Kabaddi tournament

organized in Toronto, Canada on 9th July 2017 which was participated by ten Men and Women teams.
Mr.Patel has honoured the winner team with trophy and shared information for awareness about the WKF and Kabaddi during the large gathering of people from different places.


6th July 2017 (President’s visit to South India)

On the invitation of WKF Affiliate New Kabaddi Federation of India, President Mr. L.Dorji Lama and EC Member Mr.Tara Singh participated the Sr.National Kabaddi Championship for Men and Women hosted by Tamil Nadu Kabaddi Association under the coordinatorship of Asian Gold Medalist and Arjuna Awardee Mr.S Rajarathinam and Mr.A Jaya Kumar held at the Shivani College of Engineering and Technology Tiruchy Tamil Nadu from 6-9 July 2017.
The National Championship was participated by more than 750 players and officials of Men and Women teams from 29 States and Union Territories of India. 3rd February 2017 ( WKF Executive Board Meeting )
WKF Executive Board meeting was held in New Delhi on Friday the 3rd February 2017 and following major decisions were taken:

  1. Appointments of the WKF Officials for the year 2017-2018
    Appointments of the Council of Patrons, Executive Committee, Regional WKFs and other committees were drafted and proposed for the year 2017-2018.
    It was also unanimously decided to authorize President Mr.L.Dorji Lama to appoint all the proposed WKF officials for the year 2017-2018 before 27th April 2017 with amendments if necessary.
    Further it was decided to authorize President Mr.L.Dorji Lama to appoint rest of the WKF officials as and when required.
  2. Termination of appointments of WKF Officials.
    It was decided to terminate all the appointment letters issued to WKF officials for the year 2016- 2017, thus all such appointment letters stands null and void.
    WKF Executive Board also extends thanks to all outgoing WKF officials who had served in different Committees for the year 2016-2017.

31st March 2016 ( WKF Executive Board Meeting)
WKF Executive Board meeting was held in New Delhi on Monday the 31st March 2016 and following major decisions were taken:

  1. Revision of WKF organizational Structure
    Revision of the WKF organizational Structure for 2015-2016 which was on trail basis from September 2015 for six months was discussed.
    After reviewing the performances and progress report of the Executive Committee members for the year 2015-2016, it was unanimously decided to revise the WKF organizational Structure as per Annex A for the year 2016-2017 with effect from 16th April 2016.
  2. Appointments of the WKF Officials for the year 2016-2017
    Appointments of the Council of Patrons, Advisory Board, Executive Committee, Regional WKFs and other committees were drafted and proposed for the year 2016-2017 as per revised WKF Organizational Structure. It was also unanimously decided to authorize President Mr.L.Dorji Lama to appoint all the proposed WKF officials for the year 2016-2017 within 16th April 2016 and make sure that all the appointee excluding Patrons, Advisors, Commission and Sub Committee members are from the members of Friends of Kabaddi, Life members or nominated by the affiliate Associations in good standing.
    Further it was decided to authorize President Mr.L.Dorji Lama to appoint rest of the WKF officials as and when required.
  3. Termination of appointments of WKF Officials with thanks
    It was decided to terminate all the appointment letters issued to WKF officials starting from 1st November 2014 for the year 2014- 2015 and 2015-2016, thus all such appointment letters stands null and void.
    WKF Executive Board also extends thanks to all outgoing WKF officials who had served in different Committees for the year 2015-2016.

22nd February 2016 (IOC Recognition)
As reported in previous AGMs, WKF had officially applied for IOC recognition on 24.10.2005 which was acknowledged by IOC Sports Department vide letter No 2007/CKGF/clcn 1 February 2006.
Later, as advised by the IOC Sports department letter dated September 1, 2010, we had submitted the Questionnaire 2007 & Checklist for IFs requesting recognition with prescribed attachments which was acknowledged by IOC Sports Department on 25th October 2010 by email.

Finally IOC Sport Department has directed us to submit the official procedure and criteria for International Federations requesting IOC recognition by 22nd February 2016 vide IOC letter No. 2016/KML/JMN/cam dated. 1 February 2016.
We have already submitted our Application requesting IOC Recognition to World Kabaddi Federation on 21st February 2016 which was acknowledged by Ms. Jenny Mann Head of Sport Partnerships & Coordination IOC on 22 Feb 2016 stating Thank you very much for your official letter from the World Kabaddi Federation confirming your participation in the IOC recognition process.”
We are in regular contact with the IOC and optimistic about getting the IOC Recognition to WKF in near future.


21st September 2015 (10th AGM)
10th Annual General Meeting of World Kabaddi Federation was held in Delhi at its registered office G 104/4, Laxmi Park, Nangloi, New Delhi on Monday the 21st day of September 2015 at 11:30 a.m as scheduled.
Following major decisions of the WKF Executive Board meeting held in New Delhi on Monday the 21st day
of September 2015 at 08.30 a.m (before AGM) were also endorsed unanimously.

  1. Revision of WKF organizational Structure
    Revision of WKF organizational Structure as per Annex A was made for the year 2015-2016 on trail basis for six months as per the unanimous decision of the WKF Executive Board.
  2. Reconstitution of the Executive Committee for the year 2015-2016
    Reconstitution of the Executive Committee as per Annex B was made for the year 2015-2016 on trail basis for six months with immediate effect as per the unanimous decision of WKF Executive Board. It was also decided to authorize the President to appoint additional officials and committee members as and when required.
  3. Revision of subscription fee & Entrance fee
    Revised the Annual subscription fee & Entrance fee of members as per Annex C with effect from 23rd September 2015 subject to change as per the unanimous decision of WKF Executive Board.
  4. Life member:
    As per the decision of the 5th AGM held on 23rd day of September 2010, it was unanimously decided to withdraw the privilege of voting rights automatically of those inactive life members who were absent without any information despite serving regular AGM notices on their personal emails as well as on the website for four or more than four consecutive Annual General Meetings starting from 2010 AGM.
    Further decided to terminate such life members from the list of the Federation from 1st October 2015 without prior notice with provision to refund their life membership fees, incase if they claim upon surrendering their original receipt and the membership certificate.
  5. WKF Reform
    It was unanimously decided to authorize President / Director Mr.Lhundub Dorji Lama for the second time to take all the necessary decisions and also to make deals independently with any party as suitable in connection with the reform or smooth transition of WKF for the development and sustainability of the Federation.

7th June 2015 (Delegate to United Nations)
Mr.Jugraj Singh, General Secretary of WKF has left for United States to attend the following programs
on the invitation of United Nations NGO Branch:

  1. High-level political forum on sustainable development after 2015″ convened under the auspices of the ECOSOC from 26th June – 8th July, 2015
  2. The Sixth substantive session of the Open-ended Working Group on Ageing from 13- 6 July, 2015 (OEWGA6) at Conference Room 4 UN Conference Building, United Nations Headquarters in New York.
  3. The NGO Conference & NGO networking events followed by a full, three-day global gathering, in the UN General Assembly Hall on the occasion of United Nation’s 70th Anniversary on 24, 25, and 26 August 2015 at UN Headquarters.

26th February 2015 (Affiliate / Associate member)
The membership application received from Kabaddi Federation of India was scrutinized and
Affiliate /Associate membership for National Style Kabaddi was approved for the year 2015.


22nd of December 2014 (Endorsement of the appointment of WKF Officials)
WKF Executive Board meeting was held at its Registered office in New Delhi on Monday the 22nd of December 2014 at 09.15 a.m and decided as below:

1. Appointment of WKF Officials:
President Mr.L.Dorji Lama tabled and reported that he has appointed the WKF officials on 3rd December 2014 for the term 2014-2015 as per the directives of the Board meeting of 25th September 2014. He also requested the EB to approve the appointments with necessary amendments if needed.
After discussion, It was decided to approve the appointments of WKF official with some changes as per Annex-1 for the term 2014-2015 or until further notice whichever is earlier and authorized the President to fill up the vacancies as and when required.

2. Delegation of powers to the Executive Committee:
It was decided to authorize President Mr.L.Dorji Lama to delegate the required powers to the Executive Committee for the administration of the Federation as per Article of Association 1. (i) and 51. (i) and also to work on preparation of the annual calendar and event activities for the year 2015 after consultation with the Executive Committee.

3. Membership fee of Affiliate/ Associates members:
The membership fee for the Affiliate/ Associates members is fixed at Rupees Eight thousand only (Approx. US$ 136.00) p.a and Entrance fee of Rupees Two thousand only (Approx. US$ 40.00) at the time of application.


25th September 2014 (9th AGM)
9th Annual General Meeting of World Kabaddi Federation and the election of the Executive Board (Directors) of the Federation for the term 2014-2018 was held in Delhi at its registered office G 104/4, Laxmi Park, Nangloi New Delhi on Thursday the 25th September 2014 as scheduled.
Decisions of the meeting of the WKF Executive Board held in New Delhi on Tuesday the 23rd day of September 2014 were also endorsed unanimously.

13th August 2013 (WKF’s consultative status with United Nations ECOSOC)
It is our pleasure inform our members that United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) has granted Special consultative status to our organization World Kabaddi Federation.
Our status now entitles to designate official representatives to the United Nations Headquarters in New York and the United Nations offices in Geneva and Vienna. Our representatives will be able to register for and participate in events, conferences and activities of the United Nations. WKF may designate authorized representatives to sit as observers at public meetings of ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, General Assembly, Human Rights Council and other United Nations intergovernmental decision-making bodies.


13th August 2013 (National Sports Conference at Mt. Abu)
On the cordial invitation extended by Sports Wing Office of Brahma Kumari Academy, Gyan Sarovar, Mr.L.Dorji Lama, WKF President attended the National Sports Conference on ‘Value Based Sports: Call of Time at B.K.Academy, Mount Abu Rajasthan from 9th to 13th August 2013.
WKF President Mr.L.Dorji Lama as a Guest of Honor spoke about the importance about the Values in Sports which will play a major role in imparting psychological training to enhance players’ mental performance to inculcate spiritual values in the area of sports and also emphasized on Sport’s values and norms to help build disciplined and peaceful societies to unite divided communities.
The conference which included ‘Meditation Skills Development Camp for coaches and players to enable them for self-empowerment and mental preparation for the forthcoming international events such as Asian Games and Rio Olympic Games 2016. Besides Collective Guided Meditation, and workshops for players & coaches on ‘Values in Sports’
The participants of the conference including 500 plus administrators, coach and the players were guided with the lessons on art of winning, enhancing will-power, stress management, motivational factors, building team spirit & relations, holistic fitness, nutrition and performance, science of success and science of meditation etc. so as to help them improving their games.


14th June 2013 (Guest of Honor at 1st Beach National Tug of War Championship)
WKF President Mr.L.Dorji Lama attended the 1st Beach National Tug of War Championship & 7th Open Senior Championship from 11-14 June 2013 at Vivekananda Campus, Kanyakumari South India. More than 500 athletes from all most all the States of India participated the events in different categories of both the men and Women.


5th April 2013 (Appointment of Committee members)
Executive Board meeting was held on 5th April 2013 in Delhi to discuss about the appointment of the Executive Committee, Commissions and other committees for the tenure 2012–2014 and decided as below:

1.President’s Report:
President Mr.L.Dorji Lama reported that, due to some technical reasons he was unable to appoint the Executive Committee, Commissions and other committees for the tenure 2012–2014 along with its member/ members within 31st December 2012 as directed and assigned by the Board on 27th September 2012.

2.Appointment of Committee members:
After discussion, It was decided to appoint the members of the committees as per list to the vacant post of the Advisory Committee, Executive committee, WKF Commission and Committee Chairs for the rest of the tenure (April 2013 through September 2014).

3. Nomination of delegates for Peace and Sport Regional Forum, Dubai:
As per invitation received from Peace and Sport, EB has decided to nominate Mr.Vijay Pal, Chairman of Tournament Committee to participate the Peace and Sport Regional Forum in Dubai 2013 which will take place in Dubai from 23rd April – 24th April 2013 at his own expenses.


28th September 2012 (7th Annual General Meeting, AGM)
7th Annual General Meeting of the World Kabaddi Federation was held in Delhi on 28th September 2012 and the following decisions of the Executive Board were endorsed unanimously.

1. Appointments of Committees:
Executive Board meeting on 27th September 2012 has decided to authorize President Mr.L.Dorji Lama to appoint the Executive Committee, Commissions and other committees for the tenure 2012 – 2014 along with its member/ members within 31st December 2012 as per WKF objects B .23 of the Memorandum of Association, Article 1.(i) and Article 51 (a) & (b) of Articles of Association.

2. Nomination of delegates for Peace and Sports International Forum 2012, Sochi – Russia
As per invitation received from Peace and Sport, EB has decided on 27th August 2012 to nominate Mr.Vijay Pal, Chairman of Tournament Committee and Mr.Gurmeet Singh, Chairman of Public Relation Committee to participate the Peace and Sport International Forum 2012 which will take place in Sochi, Russian Federation from 31 October – 2 November 2012 at their own expenses.

3. Approval of Projects
Following projects for the year 2012–2014 were approved by the Executive Board on 19th March 2012.

A. Kabaddi Project

  1. To introduce the game of Kabaddi in Schools/ colleges, Universities and youth Kabaddi clubs to bring together youth leaders from divided communities to unite through the game of Kabaddi.
  2. To introduce the game of Kabaddi at grass root level to encourage the under privileged youths of rural and remote areas for the establishment of Kabaddi clubs to organise league tournaments.
  3. To prepare and organize Inter school, Inter college, Inter University competitions, club championships and Kabaddi tours at National, Regional and International level to promote Kabaddi through Sports and Cultural Tourism.
  4. To organize World Cups, International Kabaddi League Championships and Kabaddi tours for greater participation of Clubs, Students, Armed forces, Departments and Associations / Federations to represent from their different countries to participate and demonstrate their skills in all the 3 disciplines as well as to promote peace and harmony through Sports and Culture tourism with Slogan ” Play Kabaddi for Peace and Harmony” .
  5. To drive new member affiliates in as many as countries of the world by networking with partner organizations to reach the target of minimum 50 affiliate national federations to get recognition of International Olympic Committee (IOC) as well as to raise funds for organizing Kabaddi tours in different countries to demonstrate and introduce the game of Kabaddi.

B. Development Project

  1. To develop Kabaddi in every corner of the world for people in maintaining their health always fit through Kabaddi.
  2. To make all the Clubs, National and Regional Federations a professional Kabaddi organization.
  3. To arrange basic infrastructure for training as well as to establish Kabaddi Academies and Sports science centres for athlete testing and support in Sports Nutrition, Bio-mechanics, Physiology, Psychology, Physiotherapy, etc.
  4. To initiate for the recognition of World Kabaddi Federation with all the continental Olympic Committees, Commonwealth Games, Afro Asian Games, International Federations of Army, school, colleges and University Sports Federation

6th September 2012 (Nomination of EC members & Regional Presidents)
The 2 years tenure of WKF Executive Committee members & Regional Presidents of Asia, Europe, America, Africa and Oceania are going to expire on 27th September 2012. Hence all the members are requested to nominate their candidates, if any before 26th September 2012 ( for the year 2012 – 2014) for the post of Executive Committee members & Regional Presidents which will appointed by the Executive Board as per WKF objects III. 6th June 2012 ( Regulating Sports Betting )
Mr.L. Dorji Lama, WKF President and Member of FICCI Sports Committee attended the
Conference on Regulating Sports Betting organized by FICCI Sports Committee on 6th June 2012 at Federation House, New Delhi.
Keynote address was delivered by Hon’ble Justice Mukul Mudgal, Former Chief Justice Punjab and Haryana High Court followed by addresses by Mr.Kirti Azad, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and renowned cricketer, Mr.Carl A.Rohsler of Squire and Sanders, UK on International perspective, Mr.V.Lakshmikumaran of Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan Attorneys on Revenue perspective.

Panel Discussion on “Is there a need to regulate Sports Betting in India ?” and ” Regulation of Sports Betting in India: Challenges and Opportunities ” were held followed by interactive questions and answers.
The program was concluded with concluding remarks & vote of thanks by Mr.Rajpal Singh, Additional Director, FICCI sports Committee.


19th March 2012 (Appointments)
As per WKF objects III. B .23 of the Memorandum of Association and the powers delegated by the Executive Board on Thursday the 12th day of May 2011, WKF President has appointed the following WKF officials w.e.f. 19th March 2012 for the remaining period of the EC term i.e. till 2012.

21st October 2011 (Global Sports Summit 2011)
WKF President Mr.Lhundub Dorji Lama along with WKF Patron Mr.Aajay Sharma, WKF Representative for Europe Mr.Robert Davies and WKF Chairman for Youth Commission Mrs.A.Elpes Rani attended the 3rd Global Sports Summit as a delegate and had the opportunity to exchange views on Public Private Partnership – Developing Sports infrastructure, Triggering investment in sports, creating sports culture, Sports as a full time career, Role of Corporate in sports development and innovative strategies etc during the International Convention on the Business of Sports organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( FICCI ) from 20th October to 21st October in Delhi-India which was participated by Federations and Associations, Sports Authority of India, Industry representatives & delegates and experts from many countries of the world. The Summit was held with support of Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt. of India, Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Chhattisgarh.
Mr.Ajay Maken, Union Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt. of India has delivered the key note address and H.E Shekhar Dutt, Governor of Chhattisgarh, Brig. K P Singh (Retd),Chairman, Sports Development Commission of Indian Olympic Association and Ms.Lata Usendi, Minister of State , Women and Child Development, Sports and Youth Affairs Chhattisgarh addressed the opening ceremony. 19th August 2011 (Appointments)
As per WKF objects III. B .23 of the Memorandum of Association and the powers delegated by the Executive Board during its meeting on Thursday the 12th day of May 2011, WKF President has appointed the following WKF officials w.e.f. 19th August 2011 for the remaining period of the EC term i.e. till 2012.

  1. Mr.Robert G.Davies of Great Britain for the post of WKF Representative for Europe.
  2. Ms.A.Elpes Rani of Chennai, India for the post of Chairman,Youth Commission.

14th June 2011 ( Draft National Sports (Development) Bill 2011 )
Mr.L. Dorji Lama, WKF President and Member of FICCI Sports Committee attended the
Interactive session on Draft National Sports(Development) Bill 2011 organized by FICCI Sports Committee on 14th June 2011 at Federation House, New Delhi.
Keynote address was delivered by Hon. R.K.Anand , Senior Advocate and Legal Expert, Indian Olympic Association and Member of Parliament.

Interactions between member from FICCI sports Committee for recommendation to Sports Ministry and representatives of Indian National Sports Federations were held followed by adoption of suggestion to be incorporated in recommendation of FICCI sports Committee to the Sports Ministry. The program was concluded with concluding remarks & vote of thanks by Mr.Rajpal Singh, FICCI sports Committee.


12th May 2011 (Executive Board Meeting)
The Executive Board has made the following major decisions during its Executive Board Meeting held in Delhi on 12th May 2011:

1. Appointment of WKF President.
Mr L.Dorji Lama, Acting President of WKF was appointed as WKF President as well as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from 12th May 2011.

2. Appointment of Presidents of regional WKFs.
Following persons were appointed to the Post of President of Regional WKFs till September 2012 with assignments to look after all the matters related to the development of the Kabaddi in their respective regions and to organize competitions at regional level from time to time with prior approval of WKF:

3. Appointment of Council of Patrons
The Executive Board has confirmed the nominations of following Patrons for WKF Council of Patrons:
1.Mr.Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, Former Minister and President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce & President of Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
2.Mr.Ajay Sharma, Indian Representative for British Colleges Sport, United Kingdom (UK).

4. WKF Malaysia.
Decided unanimously to direct the WKF Malaysia for modifications of CLAUSE 3 -DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATION, ( 3.4 ) , CLAUSE 4 – OBJECTIVES AND GOALS (4.2.1, 4.2.15, 4.2.16 & 4.2.17) and CLAUSE 5 – LOGO AND SYMBOL (5.1 & 5.3) which is found necessary to be incorporated in the constitution of WKF Malaysia by amending the constitution as prescribed which should be passed as a special resolution at Extra ordinary (Special) General Meeting of the WKF Malaysia.
Further it was decided to direct the WKF Malaysia to submit an AFFIDAVIT which should be attested by a notary mentioning that, all the modifications necessary to be incorporated in the constitution of WKF Malaysia as directed by WKF will be complied by amending the clauses as per the laws of Malaysia with approval of the Malaysian Ministry of Sports to that effect within the prescribed time by WKF.

5. Kabaddi Tournaments in South Africa during 2012.
It was decided to organise Kabaddi League Championship in April 2012, Kabaddi Youth Championship in July 2012 and Kabaddi Tours in September 2012 in different parts of Africa during the year 2012 to promote Kabaddi in Africa with cooperation of FEDERATION AFRICAINE DU SPORT UNIVERSITAIRE (FISU), International School and colleges Sport Federations and Sports for all Africa.

6. Affiliate Clubs & Kabaddi League Championships:
It was unanimously decided to plan and organize Regional and International level Kabaddi tours and Kabaddi League Championships for the affiliates of School / College / University Sports Federations and clubs of armed forces, corporate and departments etc for the promotion and development of Kabaddi at grass root level.
Further it was decided to exempt the entrance fee of Rupees five thousand at the time of application for all affiliate Clubs applying for affiliation from 1st July 2011 through 31st December 2011 to encourage maximum Kabaddi clubs of the world for WKF affiliation and participating WKF Regional and International tournaments in future.


15th April 2011 AKL ( Argentina Kabaddi League )
Argentina Kabaddi Association has announced that they will conduct the First National League of Kabaddi, in 8 stages for the year 2011 starting from 30th April 2011 as below:

14th April 2011 ( SAFF Seminar)
Mr.L. Dorji Lama, WKF Acting President and Member of FICCI Sports Committee attended the seminar for South Asian Football Federation organized by All India Football Federation on 14th April 2011 at Federation House of FICCI New Delhi.
Inaugural Session of the SAFF Seminar was welcomed by Mr.Prasana Krishnan, Chairman FICCI Sports Committee and COO Neo Sports which was addressed by Hon. Ajay Makan, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Hon. Praful Patel, Minister and President of All India Football Federation, Mr.Mohammed Bin Hammam, President of Asian Football Confederation and Mr.Kazi Salahuddin, President of South Asian Football Federation.
Proposed areas of collaboration, areas where AFC can help and coursed that can be done by FIFA were discussed with presentations on SAFF activities and FICCI.
Exchange of ideas between member from Sri Lanka, Qatar, Nepal, Malaysia, Bhutan and India etc were held followed by adoption of plan and resolution by SAFF. The program was concluded with concluding remarks & vote of thanks by Mr.Manila Fernando, FIFA Executive Committee Member and Vice President- SAFF.


12th February 2011 (IKL Championship 2011 Italy)
With regret, International Kabaddi League Championship 2011 Italy was compelled to postpone due to some technical reasons besides the best arrangements and preparation made by the Italian Local Organizing Committee. However the Indian Kabaddi Association managed a 5 day Kabaddi tour to Rome for the Indian team members to encourage the players as well as to respect the visa which they were granted by Italian Embassy.


4th February 2011 ( Workshop on Youth & Sports Development)
Mr.L. Dorji Lama, WKF Acting President and Member of FICCI Sports Committee attended the
Workshop on Youth & Sports Development in North Eastern Region in Delhi.
Inaugural Session of the Workshop was welcomed by Sh. Sailesh, Joint Secretary Department of Youth. Keynote address and address was delivered by Hon. Ajay Makan, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and Dr.Amit Mitra, FICCI respectively followed by presentations by
Sh. Injeti Srinivas, Joint Secretary, Department of Sports and Smt. Jayashree Mukherji, Joint Secretary, DONER.
Perspective and views of Sports Ministers and Sports Secretaries of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Mizorum, Tripura, Nagaland and Sikkim were exchanged.
The program was concluded with summing up, concluding remarks & vote of thanks after discussion and interactions on Skill Development and Engagement of Youth in Sports & Supplement Skills.


30th December 2010 (Argentina Kabaddi)
Argentina Kabaddi Association has successfully conducted their National Championship in December 2010. At the end of 2011 they will elect TEAM Argentina to represent Argentina in the Pan American Championship in 2012 which will be participated by the Kabaddi National teams of Canada, USA, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Chile and Argentina. The venue will be confirmed by the WKF (World Kabaddi Federation).
Kabaddi teams will be divided into “A” category for the teams that completed the National Championships and “B” for the rest o the teams. There will be also a “Minor Category” for Under18 (U 18) on reaching the limit of teams.


4th October 2010 ( Commonwealth Business Forum)
Mr.Lhundub Dorji Lama, Executive Chairman of World Kabaddi Federation and Member FICCI Sports Committee attended the Inaugural Session of the Commonwealth Business Forum on 04.10.2010 at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi on the invitation of the Organizing Committee of CWG New Delhi 2010 and Commonwealth Business Club India (CBCI). The Event was addressed by Hon. Anand Sharma, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Hon.Tejendra Khanna, Lt.Governor of Delhi, Mr.Timothy Fok, Member of International Olympic Committee, Mr.Michael Fennell, President of Commonwealth Games Federation, Mr.Suresh Kalmadi, Chairman of CWG Organizing Committee, Mr.Kamlesh Sharma, Secretary General of Commonwealth Secretariat, Mr.Rajan Mittal, President of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Mr.Hari S.Bhartia, President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mr.Ajay Shriram, Chairman of Business Club India, Lord Smith, Chairman of Glassgow 2014 and Mr.Rahul Bajaj, Former President of Commonwealth Business Council.


1st October 2010 (Global Sports Summit 2010)
Mr. Lhundub Dorji Lama, Executive Chairman of World Kabaddi Federation attended the International Convention on the Business of Sports ( Global Sports Summit Turf 2010) organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( FICCI ) from 30th September 2010 -1st October 2010 in Delhi-India which was addressed by Mr.Suresh Kalmadi, Chairman, OC – CWG 2010 Delhi and Mr.Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana and participated by Federations and Associations, Sports Authority of India, Indian Olympic Association, Industry representatives & delegates and experts from many countries of the world. The Summit was held with support of Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt of India, Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010, Indian Olympic Association and Commonwealth Business Club India etc.


23rd September 2010 (5th AGM)
5th Annual General Meeting of World Kabaddi Federation was held in Delhi at its registered office G 104/4, Laxmi Park, Nangloi New Delhi 110041. Election of the Executive Board of Directors of the Federation for a term of four years was held during the AGM.

21st June 2010 (Trade mark)
Trade Mark of the World Kabaddi Federation was officially registered with the concerned authority which was approved on 21.06.2010 to identify our firm with our unique trade mark. The Trademark provides protection to the owner of the mark (WKF) by ensuring the exclusive right to use it to identify the services of WKF and also to authorize another to use it for benefit of the Federation.


14th June 2010 (Amendment of Articles of Association)
Proposed alterations regarding addition/alteration/insertion of various clauses/sub clauses of Articles of Association of the Federation as approved by the members of the Federation vide resolution passed in the Extra Ordinary General Meeting of the Federation held on 30.06.2009 is approved by the Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Regional Director Northern Region on 14th June 2010.


19th May 2010 ( Revocation of appointment of Committee Chairs)
With regret the Executive Board during its meeting on 19th May 2010 has decided to revoke the appointments of Mr. Harinder Pal Singh “Tikka”, Norway, as Chairman of National Style Kabaddi & Circle Style Kabaddi for Europe and Mr. K.P. Singh, India, as Chairman of Circle Kabaddi for Asia for not clearing the dues of their home clubs despite reminders. The home club teams were Norway Girls Kabaddi Academy and Nirvair Khalsa Kabaddi Academy respectively who participated during the IKL Championship Nepal 2009 and has not yet cleared their dues.


6th May 2010 ( Member of FICCI Sports Committee)
Mr. L. Dorji Lama, WKF Executive Chairman was appointed as the member of the sports Committee of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
FICCI is the largest and oldest apex business organization of Indian business set up in 1927 on the advice of Mahatma Gandhi. Its history is very closely interwoven with the freedom movement. With a nationwide membership of over 1500 corporate and over 500 chambers of commerce and business associations, FICCI espouses the shared vision of Indian businesses and speaks directly and indirectly for over 2,50,000 business units.FICCI has many specialized Committees on diverse segments where key concerns are debated and discussed with the specific aim of presenting the recommendations to the Government for favorable decisions.
In sports sector, FICCI has been playing a proactive role in working with Government to put forward key concerns of the Sports Industry and to work towards creating a more conducive environment for overall Sports Development. Infact last year, we organized a Global Sports Summit “TURF 2009” the International Convention on Business of Sports with the support of Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, IOA and OC, CWG 2010 Delhi. From 8 countries more than 700 delegates and experts participated in the Summit. This Mega Event was widely covered by the media.


10th April 2010 (Appointments)
Mr.Harish Baisla, Mr.Sajit Singh and Mr.Devender Kumar of Faridabad, Haryana were appointed to the vacant post of Director of Circle Kabaddi, Chairman Fund Raising and Chairman Culture respectivelytill next Annual General Meeting & election of WKF scheduled during the month of September 2010.


3rd April 2010 (World Cup Kabaddi 2010 Punjab)
On the official invitation of Dy. Chief Minister, Government of Punjab, WKF officials headed by Executive Chairman Mr. L.Dorji Lama attended the opening ceremony of the Circle Style Invitational World Cup Kabaddi 2010 Punjab in Patiala which was participated by nine teams from India, Pakistan, Iran, Great Britain, USA, Canada, Australia, Italy and Spain.
On behalf of World Kabaddi Federation, Mr.L.Dorji Lama Executive Chairman congratulated and presented a memento as token of love to Shri Sukhbir Singh Badal Dy.Chief Minister Punjab and Chairman Organising Committee WCKP with best wishes for the successful tournament.


22nd March 2010 (Appointments)
As powers delegated by the Executive Board, the Executive Chairman appointed Mr.Iftekhar Shareef of Chicago, USA to the vacant post of the Working President of Executive Committee and Mr.Hari Datta Pandey of Kathmandu, Nepal to the post of EC Member till next Annual General Meeting & election of WKF scheduled during the month of September 2010.


16th December 2009 (Commissions & Council of Patrons)
The Executive Board has to constituted the following new commissions and the Council of Patrons starting from next year 2010 with the primary objectives as below:

1. Youth Commission

  • To Coordinate with schools, colleges, Universities and Youth organisations to bring together youth leaders from divided communities to unite young people through the game of Kabaddi.
  • To provide platform for youth to engage in cultural exchange and friendly tours by conducting school, college and university level Kabaddi tournaments at National, Regional and International level.

2. NRI Commission

  • To introduce the game of Kabaddi including Beach Kabaddi and Circle Kabaddi to youths in Schools, Colleges, Universities, Corporations, Departments and Clubs in their respective countries.
  • To form associations/ clubs to conduct competitions and tournaments at local, Region, State and National levels.

3. Kabaddi for Peace Commissions

  • To make Kabaddi an ideal platform for the promotion of a culture of peace and conveying the message of peace and learning the fundamental values of respecting each other.
  • To disseminate the values of Kabaddi in all sectors of society, and to improve social and human well-being which will help to recognise the value of sport as a tool for development and establishing peace across the world.

4. Council of Patrons
The Executive Board has also constituted a Council of Patrons comprising distinguished Kabaddi personnel and prominent intellectuals from different professions for seeking guidance and advices for the development of the Federation.


16th December 2009 (Appointments)
The Executive Board has appointed the following persons to the vacant post of WKF Regional committees.

  1. Mr. Awtar Singh Ramgadiya of Maharashtra- India to the post of Chairman of Kabaddi for Asia.
  2. Mr.K.P.Singh of Punjab-India to the post of Chairman of Circle Kabaddi for Asia.
  3. Mr. Hans Raj Kapur, Advocate and member of Supreme Court Bar Association to the post of legal Advisor of WKF Executive Committee.
  4. Prof. J.P.Sharma of Australia to the post of Chairman of Circle Kabaddi for Oceania.

16th December 2009 (Shri Guru Govind Singh Int’l Kabaddi Championship 2011)
On the Occasion of the 345th Birth anniversary of Shri Guru Govind Singh, It was decided to work for the possibility of organizing an International Kabaddi Championship titled ” Shri Guru Govind Singh International Kabaddi Championship 2010″ during January 2011 in Nanded, Maharashtra OR Amritsar India for greater participation of Youths and NRIs from different countries of the world for promoting peace and harmony through Sports, Culture and Religious Tourism with Slogan ” Play Kabaddi for Peace and Harmony”


15th December 2009 (Global Sports Summit)
Mr. Lhundub Dorji Lama, Executive Chairman of World Kabaddi Federation was invited at Global Sports Summit as a delegate and had the opportunity to participate and exchange views on sports policies and value of sport marketing etc during the International Convention on the Business of Sports organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( FICCI ) from 15th -16th December 2009 in Delhi-India which was participated by Federations and Associations, Sports Authority of India, Indian Olympic Association, Industry representatives & delegates and experts from many countries of the world.


6th November 2009
The Executive Board has made the following decisions:

  1. Approved the internally audited Income Expenditure account of International Kabaddi League Championship 2009 Nepal.
  2. To send official notice of disciplinary action to Mr.Ved Sharma & All India Circle Kabaddi Federation for non compliance of the WKF directives regarding the payment of IKL Championship 2009 Nepal BILL dated 10.10.2009 for Rs:2,20,800.00
  3. To notify that, immediate actions will be taken against Mr.Ved Sharma and the AICKF without prior notice, if the payments are not cleared within 15th November 2009.
  4. Further to notify them that, the logo, expired affiliation certificates and the name of WKF should be removed immediately from their official website of the All India Circle Kabaddi Federation and from their stationery because AICKF ceased to be the affiliate member of WKF after failure of membership renewal from the year 2007.

22nd October 2009 (Appointment of Regional Chairmen)
The Executive Board has decided to appoint Mr. Harinder Pal Singh “Tikka” of Norway to the post of Chairman of Kabaddi & Circle Kabaddi for Europe and Mr.K.P.Singh of India to the post of Chairman of Circle Kabaddi for Asia. The appointment is subject to their consent and submission of their bio data, ID and address proof within 15 days from the date of the decision of the Executive Board.

12.09.2009 (IKL Championship 2009 Nepal)
International Kabaddi League Championship 2009 for Men, Women and Youth in 3 disciplines (Kabaddi, Beach Kabaddi & Circle Kabaddi) was organized in Siddhartha Nagar, Lumbini- Nepal from 12- 14th September 2009 which was participated 269 players and officials from 20 teams representing Nepal, India, America, Sweden and Norway.

Extra-ordinary General Meeting of the members of the Federation was held on Tuesday, the 30th day of June 2009 at 11.00 a.m. at New Delhi to transact the resolutions with or without modifications regarding the amendment of some clauses of AoA as Special Resolution.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) has communicated us that the Recognition Procedure document with guidelines (for Kabaddi game) to be submitted to the IOC Sports Department by 15th December 2007 in order to take our request into consideration during the following calendar year.


12th March 2007 (Oceania Kabaddi Federation)
Mr. Mehnga Singh Khakh of Australia was nominated to the post of President, Kabaddi Federation of Oceania.


3rd November 2006 (Asian Championship Delhi)
Asian Kabaddi Championship for Men and Women was held under the auspices of
Asian Amateur Kabaddi Federation (AAKF) on 3- 5th November 2006 at Anglo Sanskrit (Victoria Jubilee) Senior Secondary, Dharyaganj-New Delhi which was participated by India, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and rest of India


30th September 2006 (1st AGM)
1st Annual General Meeting was held in Delhi at its registered office M- 167, Laxmi Nagar Delhi 110092. Election of the first Executive Board for a term of four years was held during the AGM.


1st September 2006 (Cessation of Director)
Executive Board has decided to declare that, pursuant to Section 283 (1) (g) of the Companies Act, 1956 and other applicable provisions Mr. Avatar Singh Bhadana, Director of the Company be and is hereby vacated from the office of Director being absents himself from more than three consecutive meetings of the Board of directors, without obtaining leave of absence from the Board.


12th July 2006 (Asian Meeting)
An Emergency Meeting of the Asian Amateur Kabaddi Federation (AAKF) was held at Press Club, New Delhi on 12th July 2006 to discuss regarding the South Asian Games in Sri Lanka.


12th June 2006 ( International Referee Course)
First WKF International Referee course and test exams for Asian Region was held on 12th and 13th June 2006 in Haridwar, Uttranchal and issued International Referee License to 12 qualified and experienced candidates of Sri Lanka, Nepal and India. Referee certificates were also issued to 14 successful participants who have attended the International referee course.


20th April 2006 (American Kabaddi Federation)
Mr. Ricardo A. Acuna of Argentina was Nominated to the post of President, American Kabaddi Federation.


11th June 2006 ( National Championship)
Under the Patronage of WKF, All India Kabaddi Federation has organized Senior National Kabaddi Championship for Men & Women at Haridwar- Uttranchal from 11-13th June 2006 which was participated by 14 states of India.


1 February 2006

International Olympic Committee (IOC) has communicated us that for IOC recognition for our Kabaddi sport should have a minimum of 50 affiliated national federations. Further quoted that “Obviously if this condition is fulfilled we will take your request into consideration”.


26 January 2006 ( International Olympic Committee)
Registered an application to International Olympic Committee (IOC) Switzerland for recognition of World Kabaddi Federation and inclusion of Kabaddi game in Olympic games.

Licence Under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 bearing No. 2/14/T-1/2005/D dated 6th day of September 2005 issued by Government of India, Ministry of Company Affairs, Office of the Regional Director, Northern Region.

13th April 2005 (Europen Kabaddi Federation)
A meeting of Executive Board was held at M-167 Laxmi Nagar during the visit of Vice President Mr.Romani Francesco of Italy and discussed about the formation European Kabaddi Federation and arrangement of the demonstration of of Kabaddi during the ” World United Game” and children’s festival during September 2005 in Italy.


1st February 2005 (Website launched)
Official website of the World Kabaddi Federation was was launched on 1st February 2005 in dedication to the United Nations International Year of Sport and Physical Education 2005.


24th November 2004 (Approval of name of the Federation)
Approval of the name of the Federation “World Kabaddi Federation” was sanctioned by the Registrar of Companies, Delhi & Haryana on 24th November 2004 and later renewed on 24th May 2005.


6th November 2004 (India Japan Friendship test match)
India Japan ( women) Kabaddi test match was held at Mewla Maharajpur, Faridabad- Haryana hosted by Indian Kabaddi Association.


4th November 2004 (AGM of unregistered WKF)
An International seminar on “Development of Kabaddi as a world game” was organized followed by World Congress (AGM) of World Kabaddi Federation held at Hotel Hill view, Surajkund, Faridabad- Haryana which was participated by delegates from seventeen countries of Asia, Europe and American region.


4th November 2004 ( Approval of MoA & AoA)
First Executive Board was elected until next AGM and approved the Memorandum & Articles of Association of the Federation. It was also decided to form a legal organization u/s 25 of the Companies Act. 1956.


1st October 2004 (WKF formation)
World Kabaddi Federation (WKF) was officially founded with a vision to find a way to control all the Kabaddi organisations of the member countries under the umbrella of WKF as well as to use Kabaddi sport to promote peace, understanding and Co-operation amongst the world community.


21st October 2004 (Availability of name)
Applied for availability of the name of the Federation ” World Kabaddi Federation” with the Registrar of Companies, Delhi & Haryana which was approved on 24th November 2004.


5th December 2003 (Approval of WKF formation)
World Kabaddi Federation was approved for formation during the International Gold Cup Tournament in Faridabad, India. Representative of different Kabaddi Associations and other officials from Asian countries attended this meeting.
