Dear Friends of Kabaddi,

International Convention on the Business of Sports was organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( FICCI ) from 15th -16th December 2009 in Delhi-India to provide an opportunity to discuss issues related to Sports Policies, Sports industry and opportunities, Value of sports marketing, Investment in sports industry, Sports science and medicines, Sports infrastructure – creation & management and so on. Federations and Associations, Sports Authority of India, Indian Olympic Association apart from Industry representatives and delegation & experts from Germany, Australia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and The Netherlands took part.

Mr. Lhundub Dorji Lama, Executive Chairman of World Kabaddi Federation was also invited as a delegate and had the opportunity to participate, exchange views and meet the speakers of Global Sports Summit H.E.Sir Richard Stagg, KCMG, British High Commissioner in India, Sir Richard Caig-MacFeely, Former British High Commissioner to India and Quantel Ltd, United Kingdom, Marc Lemmers, Gold Medal Coach of the Dutch women’s Hockey team in Beijing 2009, Mr.Anurag Thakur MP and HP Olympic Association, Mr.Tony Dell CEO of AISA Australia, Senior Executive officers of Coca Cola India, Hero Honda Motors Ltd, Reebok India, Ian Stokes COO of Stadiarena U.K, Media Executive officers of Net work 18, ESPAN STAR Sports, CNN-IBN and many more from various institutions.


Looking Ahead to 2010

2010 will be an extremely exciting year for WKF. In addition to continuing to introduce our Kabaddi in more than 30 affiliate countries we will expand our national affiliates to more than fifty countries of the world within the year 2010. Besides our scheduled calendar, we will also organize special school, college and University level tournaments for providing opportunity to youths to exchange culture and friendship to promote Sports and cultural Tourism for World Peace and Harmony with Slogan ” Play Kabaddi for Peace and Harmony”
